About me

The main thrust of this blog is the growing church apostasy. The sad truth is Churches and Christians are falling away (abandoning) Bible doctrines and character to be like the world. An ever increasing number of churches and Christians are traveling the "broad way" to destruction rather than the "narrow way" of faith in Christ Jesus.

In this inaugural article I want to relate a very memorable experience I had with a pastor a few years ago.  I tell this to show how Christians can be wrongfully overcharged on an issue.  The occasion was a prayer meeting in the pastor's office prior to the evening service.

As it often happens, the conversation moved to politics and politicians.  The men began discussing the presidential candidates and who they would or would not vote for.  At a lull in the talk I interjected that the only candidate that I would have voted for had quit the race so I would not be voting.

WOW! The pastor jumped all over me for my refusal to vote.  He attacked me by asking "Did you check your brain at the door?"  He meant I must have left my brain outside upon entering the room because of my attitude about voting.  He then proceeded to sternly lecture me on why I should vote.

After listening to the pastor's chastising I rose from my chair and calmly and politely told him that I would have never spoken to him with such disrespect and I exited the room.  I was not offended by his point of view but by his unchristian manner.  As for my views on the subject of voting they will be reported in forthcoming articles.

The matter at hand here is "voting."  For Christians the first person at the top of any candidates list should be Jesus Christ.  Here is some "real world" truth, dear Christian.  Humanistic governments and ungodly leaders are not the hope of Christians. Jesus Christ alone is.  For that reason we should, at every Spirit led opportunity, cast a vote for Jesus by promoting Him above all others.  LET THE WORLD KNOW THAT YOU VOTE FOR JESUS!
