Do Safelists Really Work?

Tue 17 Aug 2010

The real secret to making money with safelists has nothing to do with how
many credits you have or how often you send your ads. It's all about what
you are promoting and the only thing you should be promoting in safelists is
you.
Who? Yes... you!

The average credit safelist user is only visiting your website so they can earn
enough credits to send out their own emails. They will only be on your site
just long enough for the counter to reach zero. If you can’t capture their
attention in the first few seconds they aren’t going to stick around long
enough to explore the rest of your site.

One of the reasons people fail with safelist marketing is because they are
promoting the same generic affiliate pages as everybody else. After awhile
these pages become almost invisible and are the reason why it sometimes
feels like nobody is looking at your site.

If you want to stand out you need to do something that is going to set you
apart from your competition. You need a splash page! Mega Marketing Tools has taken notice to this. During the last 30 days the owner’s have done everything in their power to make Mega Marketing Tools different from all the other programs available. Not only has the company created Mega Marketing Tools Banner Maker; SOON you will see Mega Splash Page Builder.

A splash page is a very simple webpage designed to catch people's attention.
It usually consists of a picture, a few lines of text, and a big “CLICK HERE”
link that leads to your main site. The idea is to catch their attention with the
picture, get them interested in your site with the text, and then get them to
click your link to get more information from your main site.
Your splash page doesn't have to be fancy. It just needs to be interesting
enough to catch the eye of your visitor and have a compelling enough reason
for them to click your link to get more information.

As an upgraded Member of Mega Marketing Tools this is included with your membership.

Making your own splash page is a lot like creating an html email except you
are going to need your own html editor to do it. Guess what, as an upgraded member this is included with your membership. Mega Marketing Tools will give you all the tools you need to make your
own splash page.

The only downside to making your own splash pages is that you will need
your own web hosting to put them on the Internet so other people can see
them. Web hosting is not nearly as expensive as it sounds. Most hosting
packages start at less than $10 a month. However, if you’re an upgraded member with Mega Marketing Tools this is ALSO included in your membership.

Free hosting companies will usually only allow your page to be shown a
certain number of times each month. If you exceed that amount your page
will no longer be shown and all the traffic you worked to generate will be
wasted. Not with Mega Marketing Tools. Your bandwidth is unlimited provided your membership is upgraded.

With all this in mind, I am certain you would like to upgrade your membership!
Simply click HERE and get started today.

Traffic 101

Fri 13 Aug 2010

Traffic is essential for any online business. Without traffic, your website is just one small grain of sand in the middle of the Sahara Desert. No one will see it… nobody cares!

Getting traffic to your website is the first challenge every new online marketer faces. Not just any traffic, either. You need the right kind of traffic. You need ‘targeted’ traffic that is interested in what you have to offer on your website.

Whether your website is a blog, a lead capture page, or a sales letter, only people who are interested will ‘convert’ into subscribers and sales.

Traffic Generation is a complete Internet industry in itself. Think of Google, Yahoo, or the myriad products being sold by ‘gurus’ who promise to deliver more traffic than your server can handle when you buy their ’secret’ traffic formula. People pay good money for traffic.

Consider just a few of the popular ways you can generate website traffic:

* Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
* Pay Per Click (PPC) and AdWords
* Article Writing and Submission (aka Bum Marketing)
* Social Networking and Bookmarking
* Blogging and Backlinks

The list goes on…

Each of these methods has a significant cost factor attached. You either have to pay someone to send you traffic, or you have to put in hours and hours of work to develop content that attracts people, then wait patiently for visitors to arrive.

It can take months to get the traffic you need using these so-called ‘free’ methods, if you are able to survive long enough.

How does the aspiring new online marketer get traffic TODAY to their website?

Few options exist. My favorite traffic source, the one my business has been built almost exclusively on, is Traffic Exchanges. These include manual exchanges where you click to view other sites, as well as ‘list builders’ where you exchange email with other marketers to get website visitors.

Some of the world’s foremost Internet Marketers began their online business with traffic exchanges. I am just one more example of proof that these traffic generation systems do work… and the traffic does convert.

What makes them work so well for my business and other top marketers?

They’re Viral!

Viral marketing is like starting a chain reaction. It’s most closely related to word-of-mouth advertising in the off line arena.

With traffic exchanges you start generating website visitors immediately with a little bit of manual effort (much easier than blogging or article writing). Add in a viral component and your website traffic exponentially increases with less and less effort.

At this point in my traffic generation, I do NO manual work nor spend ANY of my own money to generate tens of thousands of highly targeted website visitors every month!

The traffic I receive is highly targeted and very responsive. The conversion process is automated so that my business grows effortlessly.

By now you are probably curious to learn how I did it.

This article is just a ‘primer’ to get you started.

First, you must know how traffic is generated with traffic exchanges…

You click your mouse in an exchange to view other people’s business offer so that, in return, they will view yours when they click their mouse.

The input is a click of the mouse.
The process is automated by the Traffic Exchange.
The output is people looking at your business offer.

But what happens when you stop clicking?

Since the input is YOU clicking, when you stop… the traffic stops. No more output.

Not much fun there. What about non-stop perpetual traffic?

To achieve leverage with traffic exchanges you need a viral component. You need to earn traffic without clicking.

One of the most overlooked benefits of a traffic exchange is the extra traffic earned by referring other marketers to that exchange. Basically, by “selling” the traffic exchange service you are “getting paid” in free traffic. Your traffic multiplies.

What happens when you reinvest your free traffic back into the traffic multiplier?

Ah… even MORE free traffic. In a very short time a compounding effect takes over. The traffic starts to grow on it’s own… PERPETUALLY!

This free residual traffic becomes residual income via your conversion process.

When you do it right… you have GROWING residual traffic that becomes GROWING residual income!

Use your traffic to build your list. Refer your subscribers to your favorite traffic exchanges to build your traffic. Then put the whole process on autopilot.

Your traffic builds your list, your list builds your traffic.

If you are not using traffic exchanges to build your list, you are leaving thousands of subscribers and potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars on the table. Click here to start making money with your Traffic Exchange.

WebSite Landing Page Guide

Tue 3 Aug 2010

A landing page is a website page that is created for one purpose – to persuade the site visitor to convert into a customer by making a sale, completing a form (thereby becoming a qualified lead), signing up for a newsletter, etc.

We provide this landing page quick reference so you can pull it out every time you are creating a persuasive landing page. It is divided into 4 sections and is intended to be an all-inclusive tip sheet.

Most importantly, consider that you have 8 seconds or less to convince your visitor to act. If you haven’t convincingly made your case in this time then your visitor will move on and will be lost, as the Internet has created the most fickle customer in sales history.

Page Layout

- Place your logo at the top left. Visitors expect it there so display your branding where it counts.

- If the visitor came from a search engine keyword search or a PPC ad, then place the keyword terms in bold at the top of the page. This reinforces to the visitor that they came to the right place.

- Always keep the Golden Triangle in mind. It is the most important and scanned part of the page. It is the area of the page that starts at the top left of the page moves to the top right side of the page then down diagonally to the bottom left of the page just above the fold. The fold is the area of a webpage that the visitor sees without scrolling vertically. You should never force a visitor to scroll horizontally. This means that your landing pages should be able to be seen completely on an 800 x 600 screen resolution. Place your UVP (Unique Value Proposition) in the middle of the Golden Triangle.

- Contrast your Calls to Action with respect to the rest of the page – use contrasting colors, round vs. rectangular, straight vs. slanted, warm color vs. cold color, big vs. little. Make sure you can spot the Call to Action from 6 feet away.

- Place assurances, testimonials and guarantees in the far-right column

- Place logos to appropriate associations or online companies at the bottom of the page to show credibility – Verisign, BBB Online Reliability, certified by…, Alexa rank (if good), powerseller, live support, credit cards supported, open 24hours a day, Hacker Safe, as seen in Entrepreneur Magazine, Chamber of Commerce, etc.

- Don’t place external links on a landing page. Just allow them the option to proceed into completing the form and converting into a customer.

- Place privacy policies on the landing page. This instills confidence.

- Think of the Amazon.com website. Note their Call to Action is the hotspot at the top-right of all pages – add to cart, one click ordering, etc. This may also apply to you.

Writing Style and Content

- Spend time on your Unique Value Proposition (UVP) and place it into the center of the Golden Triangle. A UVP is the core differentiation of a company’s product or service from those of competitors. A complete UVP will describe the market and a company’s competitors and the key difference between competitors and your own company. For instance, of you’re selling DNA Testing, you can promote your price, accuracy, and the number of conditions that your genetic testing company can detect.

- Ensure that you don’t have big paragraphs. Visitors tend to scan pages instead of reading all of the text on them.

- Write using headers above paragraphs that summarize the following text.

- Use bullets where possible as visitors can quickly scan them. Search engines also prioritize bullets instead of long paragraph text.

- If you want to add a picture, ensure that it is going to reinforce your message. You can easily lose significant sales by having the wrong picture on the landing page.

- If the purpose of the landing page is to provide a whitepaper or article then create an image for the paper with enlarged text like the one below and place it on the page:

The Form

- Keep the number of fields on the form as small as possible. This is critical in getting them to complete the form.

- Add a Comments textbox asking for the visitor’s input. It can be key to qualifying leads. Those that complete this form with the services they are looking for should be contacted immediately. Here are some requests you can use for this Comments box:

- What is biggest problem that you need to solve now?

- What is the purpose of your project?

- Please list your goals for this project.

- How can we help you?

- In case the visitor doesn’t complete the Comments textbox on the first page, add a 2nd page with only a Comments textbox on it requesting the visitor’s comments again. Tell them that if they complete the Comments box now then they will receive an extra free white paper that is relevant to the same visitor. These visitor comments are important.

- Have the visitor check a box that says something like “YES! Send me the free white paper that will change my life.” It is the psychological method of coercing them into completing the rest of the form.

- Prominently list the benefits of completing the form. It is major validation. Make sure to write the benefits in terms of the user’s benefits instead of the features of your product or service.

- Ensure you save the form information into a database and send emails out as soon as the form is completed so you can immediately contact the visitor. The lead’s effectiveness drops dramatically as time goes by. Contacting a lead within minutes is ideal.

Landing Page Mistakes to Avoid

- Graphics or text unrelated to the offer – limit copy to only the point of the landing page

- Long forms with unneeded fields – limit your form to what is absolutely essential

- Difficult to read fonts

- Navigation off of the landing page

- Placing important persuasive copy below the fold

Is Working From Home Really For You?

Mon 2 Aug 2010

Home based business are growing bigger everyday. Most people get in to the business because they need an extra income or they want to stay at home with the kids. These are exceptional reasons but you have to remember you have to put a lot of work into them to reap the benefits.

The first thing that you want to find out is how long has the business been around. It might sound good if you are one of the first to join but most home based businesses are out of business within the first year. If you can find a company that has been around for at least 5 years. This is the one you want to take a closer look into. The longer the business has been around the better chance you will have to succeed.

The second thing you need to do is check out the companies pay plan. All the pay plans look great when you first look at them. The best thing to check into is to find out how long it will take to recoup your investment into the company.

The third thing to remember is that you have to work hard at growing your business. There is no such thing as a Get Rich Quick program out there. All true businesses take time and effort to build a nice downline. When you first start out you need to plan on spending at least 2 to 4 hours a day on your business.

MegaMarketingTools :: MegaMarketingTools

The fourth thing to do is ask your upline members any questions that you have. If you have joined under a good member they will be willing to help you any way that they can. Find out what kind of advertising that they are doing to promote the business. Any questions that you have and need answers to they should be able to answer or at least be able to get the answer to them.

Remember home based businesses don't produce a lot of income over night. You have to be willing to put in a lot of work and effort into it. At times it will get frustrating but this is no different if you owned any other kind of business. Don't give up and great things will come your way.

The Guru and me.

Sun 1 Aug 2010

Many new marketers, like I was in 2003, ask themselves what the difference is between themselves and the Gurus. “Why don't I have a massive list of confirmed buyers? I have been building a list and mailing offers daily but no conversion. They just sit there, grab free gifts but don't buy.”

First off, I want to thank Charles for the invite to guest post on his amazing blog. I will do my best.

OK, back to the subject at hand and that is: What is the difference between a guru and the average marketer? What is the mindset that changes everything and puts you in the top 3% who will actually be a massive success online? Many think it's innovation, but if you could afford one of Russel Brunson's courses or if you have read Mike Filsame's blogs, you will notice that over half of their products were a rough idea outsourced to others. In short, they said: “I want something that does this.”, and then sold the product of somebody's skills and knowledge.

Innovation is an idea, and we all have ideas so innovation is not the secret.

“GO” is the secret!. See, without “GO”, ideas are just that, and they stay locked away. “GO” is the difference between joining a group and just reading, or jumping in and leading. “GO” is taking the idea and putting it with the resources to make it a reality.

Our Guru friends are collectors of knowledge and contacts. They become brokers of the same. In fact 90% of their time is not spent on sales, but on sharing and branding. We see them as experts because they collect knowledge, then share it and get their personal brand on great resources. From the giveaway event of the year for list building, to my testimonial on the front page here at IBS, the top marketers will aim to get their faces seen in association with impact making products.

Some folks see the same faces on 5,000 programs and products and assume there is some secret clique, club, or hidden membership. Sure, clout will help break you in, but most of these Joint Venture deals happen in a matter of days and sometimes seconds. In my case, if I am getting ready for a launch I send an e-mail or Skype chat to the most powerful and clout ridden contacts I have at the time and invite them to take a sneak peek before the rest of the world. That's what is going on right now with Social Impact Marketing and another project that will impact you directly as we speak.

"Fact is, some of my JV contacts I have only spoken to a few times and some are so busy it can take weeks to get a reply; but the same power that will push our launch is inside everyone."

Resources and connections are best used when you share first and sell later. I know, a lot of the e-mails you open are only ads, and the last actual gift may have come months ago, but the top marketers share in forums, on community pages; they blog, they give tips, and they answer questions. By sharing in all these avenues, they see the “I want to read your stuff” reaction. That is the reason you open those emails and spend hours on that free gift - devouring the pieces of knowledge. By applying “GO” and sharing first, they become leaders instead of followers. “GO” takes information and makes it salable. “GO” makes the connection and makes them want to follow and ready to buy.

Why You Need to Optimize for Bing

Sat 31 Jul 2010

For those of you with a good memory and those that follow uber geek news you may recall an agreement about a year ago where the Microsoft Bing search engine would start powering the Yahoo search results.

The driver behind the agreement is to release the burden of Yahoo competing head to head with Google in search technology, allowing them to focus on what they do best; providing a content portal and selling ads. From Microsoft’s standpoint they are committed to making the investment in search technology and this provides another source of revenue and traffic for them. I see this as a win-win for both companies and webmasters alike, who have one less search engine to worry about.

More recently there has been an announcement of layoffs of Yahoo! Search staff which leads us to speculate the transition to Bing search results is imminent.

Most webmasters heavily rely on Google traffic and rarely even consider the optimization effort for other search engines. This has been a fine strategy but if you are not thinking about this transition you may wake up to a decrease in search traffic. Another point of interest is that Bing has been gaining market share and may become increasingly relevant.

Here is a breakdown of market share:

Google Sites 63.70%
Yahoo! Sites 18.30%
Microsoft Sites 12.10%
For WhyDoWork here is a breakdown of our search traffic:

Google 91.28%
Yahoo 4.14%
Bing 1.69%
Other 6.27%
Now in theory you may assume that after the switch we will see 5.83% bing traffic but this is not necessarily the case. If we rank poorly in Bing relatively to our competitors we will see a decrease in search traffic after the switch. If we rank better relatively to our competitors in Bing we will see an increase.

So How Can You Rank High In Bing?
Truthfully the answer is that the same techniques used in determining your Google ranking is conceptually the same as what determines your Bing ranking [backlinks, keyword optimization, meta tags, title tags, url keywords, etc]. If you would like to read about this theory here is a detailed analysis from SEOMoz, the webs authority in SEO.

Should I do Nothing to Optimize for Bing?
Not really. While your conceptual website design and SEO techniques should be the same there are things you can do above and beyond. A great technique is to run search query tests for main keywords and deep links for search terms you expect to rank well for. See where you rank and analyse the people who are higher in the rankings then you. What are they doing different?

The Open Site Explorer is my favorite tool for this type of investigation. Check out your competitors backlinks vs your own. Maybe it will give you some tips.

Good Luck!

The Importance of Duplication in Network Marketing

Sun 25 Jul 2010

If you have been into the field of network marketing (also called multi-level marketing or MLM) for quite a long time now, then you are probably familiar with or at least have heard of the term duplication.

Duplication in the field of network marketing means copying the tried and tested recruitment system of your leader or upline. This is especially important for beginners who are not yet familiar with the twist and turns of network marketing, as without an established system that they can follow, beginners might be lost in the wide array of online marketing tools and recruitment strategies that might not work best for them.

But as easy as it may sound, duplication is actually hard to do. One must be careful in choosing a leader whose system they should duplicate. Most of the times, aspiring network marketers fail in staying afloat in the industry mainly because they have chosen to duplicate an ineffective system from a leader who does not have enough expertise in what he is doing or maybe because they don’t listen to their upline enough and opted to develop their own strategy. Listen, there is nothing wrong with trying to come up with your own recruitment strategies, but for a beginner, I must recommend that you stick first with the tried and tested system of a successful upline in order for you to build your own organization quickly and securely. Once you have already acquired enough knowledge and experience in network marketing industry, then you can go your own way of exploring other marketing tools and strategies that can rev up your recruitment.

Remember, your aim in getting into network marketing is to earn passive residual income from your recruits who are commonly called your downline. The wider your downline base is, the stronger potential to earn a large amount of passive residual income.

Just in case you are not yet familiar with network marketing, this is how it works: A neophyte network marketer must crawl his way to the top by following a leader or upline. As this neophyte progresses or stay afloat in the industry, he too will soon have his own organization consisting of his followers. The main characteristic of network marketing is that the more successful your downline are in doing their business by duplicating your system, the more passive residual income you will likely earn.

Without your downline growing their business, there is no chance for your business to grow as well. In short, the key to the success of any network marketing endeavor is by helping your downline grow their business and develop their own organization. It is very important that you maintain a duplicable system that your downline can follow. The best way to ensure a duplication is through streamlining, a marketing system wherein everything is done uniformly and repetitively by your downline.
If, on the other hand, your sponsoring upline is not employing a duplicable system, then strive hard to take a few more steps higher than them until you get hooked up with a leader who has an efficient, successful and most importantly, duplicable system. For additional information on how to become successful in network marketing, please visit my website at http://www.officialbeyourownboss.com
