Over the past several weeks I've had many individuals ask how I promote my business. Should more effort be made towards the electronic media? Or, schedule more one-on-one meetings? Or, have parties or large meetings? How do you handle new members not living within a reasonable driving distance?
Really, no one method is correct in all situations. In our industry you must have a good blend of "Facebook" time and "Face" time. Electronic media is very non-personal, but the state of the economy has required many to venture out into the home business arena for the first time. They may feel more comfortable learning about a company, their products and opportunity all on their own time at their own pace. Face time can come when the "newbie" is ready for the next step. It's important to keep in contact without appearing overly anxious.
The right electronic media is important, if you want to build your business online. It's important to have a good back office with autoresponders. I like a company that allows the flexibility to make customizations to what prospects will see, such as the landing page and autoresponse e-mail messages. The company I use is Prosperity Central. Prosperity Central gives you the options to add your own videos, modify the autoresponder e-mails, track your prospect's activities on the site, set up webcasts, conference calls, toll-free numbers, and much more at the higher levels. It's great for helping develop your distributors giving them a system to follow.
Another important piece in building your business online is driving traffic to your landing page. You can do this through word of mouth, hand out business cards, or use a mailer system. There are so many out there, all of them attesting that they are the best. Like anything, each has its own qualities, but the one I found to be the most professional, expertly engineered, and offer a quick response to any of my questions is State of the Art Mailer. Blogging has also become a popular way to promote your business in an indirect way. Of course, to help promote my business, I use IBS. You can click anywhere on this page to learn more about getting started. It's very simple, and pretty intuitive.
That leads me to the company you are promoting, the business opportunity and the products. Again, so many out there especially in the Health & Wellness industry. I've done my homework of several different top companies. I chose Shaklee because of its integrity, heritage, their variety of products (that actually work!) and the compensation plan.
I didn't just research on the internet, I talked with people who have been in the business, some more than 30 and 40 years! I asked them what they liked about the business, disliked, how they got started back then because there were no computers, iPhones, iPads, webcasts, etc. They said it was good old fashioned one-on-one face time. Everyone in Shaklee is like an extended family member. We work together, share ideas, host meetings together and learn from one another.
I've been with Shaklee for seven years. Each year my business grows more and more, I meet new wonderful people, and make new long lasting relationships. All the while, we are getting healthier, living longer more productive lives, helping the planet be healthier, and teaching others to do the same thing.
This business is so simple. Use the products, share the products, teach others to do the same. The company is honest, never missed a paycheck, never had a product recalled, the products actually work, and they help people all over the world. It's a good and wholesome company that you don't have to worry about it going out of business tomorrow. They have grown to 7 markets: US, Canada, Mexico, Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan, and China. Next year they will be opening Indonesia. So, you can have your own international business. We are specifically looking to grow our business in China. If you have any contacts there, please forward our information.
Every day with Shaklee is a ground floor opportunity. No location is too saturated. There are no regions or territorial boundaries. No product to stock, deliveries or collections to make. Just three simple steps: 1. Change brands and use the products -- these are products you use every day. 2. Share your product experiences with others. 3. Teach others to do the same.
