To all my blogging friends,
I read this article by Charlie Page and I wanted to share it with you.
A Time For Thanks
by Charlie Page
It seems we can’t read or listen to the news without seeing or hearing talk of war, political scandals, natural disasters, and an economy on the brink. Few speak of the blessings they enjoy.
Some voices are asking — is THIS a time to be thankful?
I believe the answer is a resounding “YES”! Here are only a FEW of the reasons why.
You are reading this on a computer connected to the Internet. In contrast, many countries will forever deny or seek to severely limit and censor their citizens’ ability to do what we do everyday -sign on and read email – for fear that truth will set them free.
The sheer fact that you are reading this article means you are better off than 2 billion (yes- that is a “B”) citizens of planet earth who can’t read. If you know, right now, where your next meal will come from you are better off than an estimated 25% of children living in America.
The rates for other countries are staggeringly high. In these things and more, most of us are privileged in ways that others only dream of.
The Internet itself is a reason for great thanksgiving. It may seem cliche, but the fact remains that in no other time in the history of the world has it been easier to open your own business and change your circumstances.
For many the Internet is not a convenience, but rather the only way out of desperate circumstances.
A computer programmer in one of the formerly Communist countries of Eastern Europe found his way out of poverty by selling his services cheaply over the Internet. Providing excellent customer service and thankful for the opportunity itself, the income he earns makes possible such “luxuries” as proper medical care and a steady food supply.
While the average per capita income in his country remains under what many in the U.S. pay for housing alone, he eclipses that number and is building a future for himself and his extended family. We in America view Thanksgiving as a one-day event, yet one can guess that it’s Thanksgiving everyday in his home.
If you live in America, your Constitution guarantees you life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. You have rights. You have the right of free speech, the right to peacefully assemble and to protest.
Students in Tian’anmen Square made the ultimate sacrifice on June 4th, 1989 in an attempt to gain for themselves a right that we in America have enjoyed for over 200 years. We move freely from state to state with no border guards. We are free to worship as we choose. We have access to our elected officials. If we don’t like something they do, we can vote them out of office.
For these things we should be grateful indeed, because they ensure our continued freedom and ability to determine our own fate.
Our world encourages us to be competitive, to win. These are necessary traits if we are to progress. Progress is necessary and good. Yet the siren song of business, the desire for double digit growth and the constant comparisons of ourselves to others often cause us to forget that we have so much more than we think.
We must not let the speed of the Internet or the constant demands of our business life steal our sense of well-being and appreciation for the people in our lives.
Make no mistake, real tragedies occur. No amount of “happy thinking” will change that reality.
Business success will always take hard work and long hours. Success itself will always be a collaborative effort. There will always be thieves online who promise easy riches and deliver only disappointment. Grieving people will always require time to heal.
Genuine gratitude, however, to God and those around us, will speed our healing and bring comfort while we heal.
As the year draws to a close, it is appropriate for us to count our blessings and be thankful.
If you are having difficulty finding your blessings, try starting with these simple questions:
* Do you live free today?
* Does someone love you today?
* Are you part of a family?
* Have you heard children’s laughter?
* Can you choose your own actions today, tomorrow and beyond?
The more you think, the more you will realize that you are blessed indeed.
When we harbor the illusion that we can change the future, and allow our thoughts to stay there, we forget the joys of today.
The great gift we all share is today. You can make choices today. You can love your family and friends today. You can share a smile today.
Today is the gift.
As we rush headlong into the holiday season the days seem so short. Yet now is perhaps the best time to express our thankfulness to those around us.
In this, the season of giving, let us pause to remember those who we are thankful for.
From giving something as simple as a smile to a co-worker to surprising your spouse with a spontaneous gift to show your love, let us each commit to brighten someone’s life this very day.
Now more than ever we must pause to count our blessings. Count yours today and every day and you will find that you are rich indeed.

To all my blogging friends,
You’ve read the ads or seen the infomercials. “Build a six or seven figure income while lounging in your pajamas in your work at home business.” For many people who hear this, their scam detector goes up and they become defensive. Why? Because they have heard countless horror stories of people who have lost their shirt trying to create a business from home.
However, the truth is there are thousands of home based entrepreneurs around the country who have cracked the code, created their place in the world and taking it to the bank. So how did they do it? Why do some people struggle and never ever break even while others create outrageously successful home based careers?
There are certain habits which I believe are consistent with all of these enterprises. Here are seven habits or traits when implemented work to insure an outrageously profitable venture.
1. Find a hungry target market and look for a product or service to meet their needs. I am surprised how many frustrated entrepreneurs miss this. What often happens is someone gets excited, hit by an entrepreneurial seizure and tries to start a business with a product or service and feels it will sell simply because of their emotional attachment. Keep your mind open when looking at home based business income opportunities. However, make sure someone wants to buy whatever you have to sell before you jump in.
Don’t get me wrong you want to have a passion for what you do. However, if you love 8 track tapes it might be a problem. And depending on your age you might be thinking, “What’s an 8 track tape?” Get my point? However, if you find a group of people who are hungry for what you have is like shooting fish in a bucket. When you find a group that has a problem they want solved they will pay you to do it.
2. Understand nothing happens until a sale is made. I am amazed at how many budding entrepreneurs say they hate sales. This is unfortunate because everything else in a business is an expense. If you don’t have sales coming in the door eventually the doors will close.
Sales and marketing if done correctly is the engine to a company’s success. The key is to add value to the customer at every opportunity. One of the vital things to remember is the first time you obtain a client is the most expensive. But the real wealth is built when you have the opportunity to sell to a customer over and over again. Some companies even take a loss to get the customer in the pipeline because they realize the real money is on the back end and the true profit is in the lifetime value of the customer.
3. Develop a strong team. One of the traits that will accelerate the success of any business is the leverage generated by the help of others.
Robert Kiyosaki Author of Rich Dad Poor Dad says, “Business and investing are team sports.” The average investor or small-business person loses financially because they do not have a team. Instead of a team they act as individuals who are trampled by very smart teams.”
While you are building a home based business you don’t want to do it alone. There are only 24 hours a day and you can’t do everything. You want to look for opportunities to outsource all non revenue generating activities. Successful proprietors don’t waste a lot of time on filing and organizing.

To all my blogging friends
Time is the most precious value we have. Time is the greatest equalizer of human beings. If we don’t want to admit this and to treat time with respect then we will only have to lose. It doesn’t matter if you are rich or poor, healthy or sick, you will only have 24 hours a day either way, and you should try to use them wisely.
Most of the time, we waste our time and energy worrying and thinking about things like how to win more money and how to live a better life. Well, when we do this we usually forget about the most important thing – the time to live our life in. A wise man will always tell you: “You can always make more money, but you can never buy more time”.
How many times are we aware of the ways we invest our time? And the word “investment” is the most accurate because the way we choose to spend our time is a true investment in ourselves and our own lives. And you will never find the true value of time in the way people around you act and talk.
People usually spend time for hours in front of the TV, or they spend a lot of time browsing the net with no purpose whatsoever. Some of us even try to steal more time with the cost of many healthy sleep hours. If you wake up earlier in the morning just to smoke a few cigarettes and to fill your self up with coffee so you won’t feel sleepy, it doesn’t mean you won quality time. Also, inefficient work or spending more hours at work than you have to is equal to borrowing your life to someone else.
Everyone always says things like: “I’m just counting the hours to go home” or “I wish it were Friday” on a Monday and so on. These are just signs that those people usually waste their time. If we organize our time efficiently and if we choose to do only activities that motivate us somehow, then we will find ourselves able to work everyday without feeling tired or sleepy.
At any moment that you just let time pass by you think about what Romans said:”Carpe Diem” – it has a great meaning for our everyday life, it means “Live the day” or better said “Organize your day”. Make more time to analyze the way you invest or waste your time. And never forget that you can’t tell anything about tomorrow so “Carpe Diem!”
"Carpe Diem!"
Charlene Leggett
P.S. When you organize or invest your time wisely into your day so you can get things done at work or in your home based business more efficiently, you will then realize you have more time with family and friends without feeling tired. "Carpe Diem!"

To all my blogging friends,
Specializing in Niche Markets has never been as crucial as it is today. Long gone are the days when you can target general, broad markets and make money from them.
To make money in today's Internet Marketing environment, one must specialize in well defined niche topics.
Lets examine a few misconceptions when it comes to niche marketing.
Misconception #1: You do not have to be an expert in the Niche field you choose!
Everyone says you should only choose a Niche that you are an expert in...nonsense!
The Internet is so impersonal that you can easily appear as an expert and not know anything about that particular niche topic. The key is to appear as an expert. How? You can outsource, build niche sites with no interaction such as blogs, purchase resale rights to an ebook in a particular niche. You see, you can choose to profit from any niche you like.
Misconception #2: Choose one niche market and stick with it.
Not true! Once you establish yourself in one niche and develop a profitable system, choose another one and run with it. You can even choose a pen name if you like, it's common practice to do so.
Niche marketing is a numbers game. Once you find a profitable niche put it on auto-pilot and choose another niche market to get into.
Misconception #3: The best way to make money in the niche game is to promote niche products as an affiliate.
Wrong again! Sure, becoming an affiliate and promoting niche products can be very profitable, but if you are doing this, you're not maximizing your income.
You need to promote your own landing or squeeze page where you collect the e-mail address of the visitor, and then sending him or her to the niche product you are promoting. You should also send out an e-mail course with informative information pertaining to that particular niche market to gain the visitors trust. Since your subscriber now trusts you, you can recommend products in that niche again and again, knowing your recommendation holds a lot of weight.
Those are three popular misconceptions when it comes to niche marketing. Follow the tips above, and you will be more likely to succeed. Remember, it is important to find a profitable niche, set it up so it is on auto-pilot, then move on to the next niche.
Not all niche markets will be a slam dunk, so don't get discouraged.
Even if one out of ten become really profitable, sit down and smile, you've hit the jackpot.
